I love traveling! It is especially fun to travel for weddings. Being at a wedding in a new city and with a new culture is a great way to learn about people and experience new places.
Two years ago we visited Oklahoma City for our friend Megan's wedding. It was a great event held at a local art gallery. She made us feel right at home. Especially since we had a personalized white and pink cotton gift bag, with my name on it, waiting for us upon our arrival. It included a bottle of wine, water and some snacks. Perfect!
Gift bags are a great way to welcome out of town guests. So, I went on Etsy and found some wonderful, affordable ideas to make your gift bags perfect for your visiting guests.
Here is one great idea by thefavorbox in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. This Etsy company had over 485 positive reviews for this item alone. They make adorable boxes that you fill yourself. A set of 8 is $28.
This next option is just adorable! I love it because I can see myself using it for all sorts of things. This handmade, cotton muslin bag is personalized with the couple's initials in a very simple, understated manner. Which,, by the way, is a good way to go if you want your guests to continue to use their gift beyond your wedding weekend. This California company called BeCollective sells 10 of these bags for $20. A great price! Size: 8" x 12". The bag is hand stamped with a flourish design and the couples initials in black ink. And again, you can fill it with all sorts of great things your guests will want to have during their stay.
The next idea comes from DecadentDesigns. Their 100 percent cotton tote would be a great way to give your guests just what they need. (Size: 11" x 8.5" x 3") It comes in several colors and is priced at $7.50 per bag, with ribbon and tag included. The company www.withluvdesign.com has great reviews with over 1,800 review responses. Again, what I love about this bag is that it's completely reusable. I will remember the wedding and the bag without having the bag stamped with the couples wedding date. The beautifully vivid colored note is printed perfectly and will be a nice keepsake, while the bag will continue to tote around my belongings for years to come.
Now that we have looked at some of the lovely ways to hold your gifts, the next question is what to put inside of them. This is where you can show your guests that you really know and love them. I think that every bag should have water. But, that might be because I love to drink water. You know your guests, so give them what they will really appreciate. Most importantly, give your guests a personalized note expressing your love and appreciation for their presence at your event.
Here are some of my ideas for your gift bag:
